Move over Red Delicious, Cosmic Crisp have a Fresh Taste
Red Delicious’ beautiful look has always caught shoppers’ eyes however newer varieties like Cosmic Crisp catch eyes and have memorable taste. Cosmic Crisp is a cross between the Enterprise and the Honeycrisp varieties. Besides being easy to grow, Cosmic Crisp already boasts top ratings for taste and texture from consumer focus groups.
International markets still love Red Delicious but Cosmic Crisp is expected to take on American markets much like the Honeycrisp once did.

On May 4, 2015, Team Pink Lady and Ali Vincent, first woman to win The Biggest Loser, star of the reality TV show Live Big With Ali Vincent, and official spokesperson for Pink Lady America, participated in a big way at The Yakima Greenway’s Color the Way 5K event. Before the event, Team Pink Lady decorated over 1,000 runners in Pink Lady® brand tattoos. Ali and the seven fun young ladies sporting hot pink tutus led almost 2,000 participants in a warm-up before the race and then kept the party going with the epic after-party at the race finish line. Several large fruit companies helped to sponsor the event and had many of their employees volunteer to spray color onto runners. The event raised money to support The Yakima Greenway’s Kiddin’ Around program which encourages kids to stay active and be healthy.

Near perfect growing conditions along with the usual hard work of the growers has resulted in one of the best Pink Lady® Brand crops in Washington State seen in recent seasons.
Warm weather during much of the growing season, and a touch of coolness in the Fall, again brought on that pleasant pink exterior color, with fruit showing up in the nation’s supermarket produce departments in late November.
Like the remainder of the Washington State apple crop, the production of the Pink Lady® Brand is up significantly over last season with nearly 3.3 million cartons
