On June 29, 2013 Pink Lady America brought Ali Vincent to Yakima, WA for the first ever Bite of Yakima event. Pink Lady America teamed up with Sage Fruit and Memorial Hospital to bring fun and health to Yakima area residents. Ali talked to the crowd about her journey and about making good choices. Back at the Pink Lady® booth, Sage fruit generously donated Pink Lady® brand apples so we could give out healthy snacks to the masses. On a day that was well over 100 degrees, Memorial Hospital’s “Re-Think Your Drink” educational program was a huge hit! Kids and parents had the opportunity to try different fruit flavored waters as an alternative to sugary drinks and sodas. Ali Vincent was hands on to get Pink Lady® tattoos on all of her fans that came by to say hello and to get an autograph from the reality TV star. Nathan from ZumbaTomic led Ali, kids and their parents in several fun Zumba sessions. It was a great day full of fun and health in the Yakima Valley!

Team Pink Lady® does The Color Run 5K Race in Seattle, WA…
The Color Run is called “the Happiest 5k on the Planet,” and for good reason. It’s basically a giant, colorful party that promotes health, happiness, individuality, and giving back. That sounds like everything the Pink Lady® brand is all about! Pink Lady America sponsored Team Pink Lady® to join The Color Run on May 12, 2013 at the Seattle Center. Our runners, Bryanna Bruskland, Lyndsy Bailey, Bergen Anderson, Madison Randleas, Bailey Bowell, and Sophia Limacher, showed their Pink Lady® spirit with hot pink tutus and sunglasses, Pink Lady® temporary tattoos and balloons, and of course, your favorite Pink Lady® brand apples. At the start of its new role of providing information on the ‘Apple Health for Kids’ (AHFK) insurance program in Washington State, Pink Lady America launched what will be multi-faceted effort providing ways to help improve the health profile of our children.
This program is called ‘Pink Lady Cares For Kids™’ with AHFK bringing not only the health insurance coverage for low income children component but also a portion dedicated to preventative care.
With childhood obesity being a crisis in the country, the Pink Lady Cares For Kids™ program is also seeking ideas related to ways to help alleviate that problem. Ideas involving how apples are a perfect ‘healthy fit’ for such a solution are especially important.

akima residents were treated to an inspirational hour with Ali Vincent in August as she was featured at the “Healthy Families, Healthy Kids Luncheon.”
In her first visit to Yakima as the spokesperson for Pink Lady America, Vincent vividly described her journey to become the first female ‘Biggest Loser’ in 2008.
Proceeds from the event were donated to the Children’s Village Wellness program from the Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital Charitable Foundation to help fight childhood obesity.
Ali Vincent is the star of “Live Big With Ali Vincent” on the LiveWell cable network.

Near perfect growing conditions along with the usual hard work of the growers has resulted in one of the best Pink Lady® Brand crops in Washington State seen in recent seasons.
Warm weather during much of the growing season, and a touch of coolness in the Fall, again brought on that pleasant pink exterior color, with fruit showing up in the nation’s supermarket produce departments in late November.
Like the remainder of the Washington State apple crop, the production of the Pink Lady® Brand is up significantly over last season with nearly 3.3 million cartons
