Heliodor™ is a cross between the Golden Delicious and Topaz, made at the Institute of Experimental Botany in Prague, Czech Republic. The cultivar produces a medium to large apple with moderate ribbing. It features a bright yellow surface that is smooth, shiny, and russet free, typically without blush. The yellow flesh is moderately firm, crisp, and very juicy with a sweet-subacid flavor. This apple is resistant to scab and has very low susceptibility to powdery mildew. Harvest timing is similar to Golden Delicious, achieving eating maturity about 2 weeks after picking.

Parentage: Golden Delicious x Topaz
Breeder/Owner: Institute of Experimental Botany, Prague (Strizovice) Czech Republic
Flavor profile: It has a long stem and smooth russet-free skin that is slightly waxy and shiny. The flesh is yellowish, medium firm, crisp and very juicy with sweet sub-acid flavor and good taste. Keeps approximately 6 months in regular storage.
Color profile: Produces bright yellow fruit usually without a blush.
Fruit size: Medium to large fruit
Fruit shape: Globose to conical shape, moderate ribbing
Harvest timing: Harvests with Golden Delicious (early October in Northern Hemisphere). Eating maturity is reached about 2 weeks after picking.
Disease resistance: Resistant to scab (Vf), very low susceptibility to powdery mildew.
